Fast Facts: Alpacas resemble small llamas in appearance and were bred specifically for their fiber and meat. Native to the Andeas of southern Peru, northern Bolivia, Equador and northern Chile, Alpacas have been domesticated for thousands of years and are often used in the art images of the Moche people of northern Peru.
